Pawtology was originaly started in the spring of 2014 over a conversation between a veterinarian and an engineer. This discussion involved Senior Dogs, their anatomy, and possible solutions for the problems that ail them. After many failed attempts to design a solution for correcting lost traction, we came up with PawFriction. PawFriction, is our first product and it was what Pawtology was originally founded on.

Senior and disabled dogs may lose traction and the ability to navigate smooth surfaces like they used to.

PawFriction is a paw pad coating system designed to improve quality of life for senior dogs and dogs with orthopedic or neurological conditions. PawFriction decreases sliding on smooth floors, increases mobility, and reduces risk of injury.

PawFriction was designed by a veterinarian with your dog's health in mind. Every component is non-toxic and safe for you, your dog and your home.

For aging pets, mobility is life. Muscle loss, arthritis, orthopedic/neurologic issues, and general aging can cause dogs to have significant mobility problems, especially on hardwood and other smooth floors. PawFriction was created to give your senior dog a new lease on life by giving them the ability and confidence to get around. PawFriction immediately restores your dog's traction without the need for individual sizing or placing objects over the foot.

PawFriction was designed to be so simple, yet so effective.

PawFriction is most effective for dogs with:

  • Arthritis and old age

  • Neurologic conditions: degenerative myelopathy, disc disease, lumbosacral instability, brain tumors, Wobbler's

  • Orthopedic issues: fractures, ACL injuries, patella luxation

  • Postoperative recovery: back surgery, knee surgery (TPLO, TTA, lateral suture), amputations

  • Confidence issues: reluctant to walk on smooth floors

  • Increasing the success of rehabilitation or physical therapy

  • Other conditions that can make walking on smooth floors difficult

*** Testing has shown that PawFriction decreases thermal heat transfer from hot surfaces under reasonable conditions

Simple to apply. Proven to work.
